How Rossiter’s Removals handles your enquiries and personal information.
Who is responsible for your information?

You can contact us at 54 St Johns Crescent, Harrogate, HG1 3AD, by email at rossitersremovals@gmail.com, or by telephone on 01423 562597. Please use these details for privacy questions or requests.
Information we collect
When you enquire online, by email or by telephone, we collect the contact details and information you give us. Our website form asks for your name and email address. You may also provide a telephone number, moving locations, your preferred moving date, the service you need and details of your enquiry.
Please only provide information relevant to your enquiry. Avoid including payment-card details, identity documents or sensitive information in the free-text message. If you give us another person’s contact details, please make sure they know you have done so.
When you visit the website, our hosting and website services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, dates and times, and error or security logs. The website services described below may also receive technical information.
Why we use your information
We use enquiry information to answer questions, prepare quotes, discuss your requirements and take steps at your request before a booking. If you book a service, we use relevant information to arrange and provide it. Our lawful basis for these activities is taking steps before entering into a contract, or performing that contract.
We also use information to manage general correspondence, maintain and secure the website, investigate delivery problems and deal with complaints or disputes. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a reliable business and protecting our customers and systems, while considering your rights.
We may keep or use records where necessary to meet legal obligations, including applicable tax and accounting requirements. Where consent is required for optional cookies or similar technologies, the relevant processing requires consent. Sending an enquiry is not consent to receive marketing.
Who receives your information
Information is available to people who need it to handle your enquiry or provide the agreed service. Our website and email hosting providers and website support providers may process information when supplying and maintaining those services.
Website enquiries are emailed to our business Gmail mailbox using our configured email server. We use WP Mail SMTP to deliver those messages and keep email delivery logs, including message content, on the website server for troubleshooting. Google processes information when providing Gmail and the website services described below.
Where necessary, relevant information may also be shared with professional advisers, insurers or public authorities to meet a legal obligation or deal with a claim. We limit what we share to the information needed for the purpose.
Website analytics, cookies and external services
We use Google Analytics through Google Site Kit to understand visits to our website, including the pages people view and how they interact with the site. Google Analytics can use identifiers and cookies such as _ga and cookies whose names begin _ga_. These can distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Google’s standard _ga cookie can last for up to two years; browser settings and service configuration may affect its lifetime.
You can view, block or remove cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. These controls do not delete information already collected. Cookie lifetime is separate from how long we keep an enquiry.
The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to retrieve them, which involves sending technical information such as your IP address and the requested font. Links to other websites are subject to those websites’ own privacy information.
For details of Google’s processing, see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry records for 12 months. If an enquiry becomes a booking, we may retain the relevant booking, payment or service records for longer where needed to provide the service, meet legal requirements or deal with a complaint or claim.
Website email delivery logs are configured to be retained for approximately one year. Technical and security information is retained for the period needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the relevant service. Service providers may have their own retention arrangements, explained in their privacy information.
We review information when it is no longer needed and remove it in accordance with the relevant retention arrangements.
Information processed outside the UK
Some providers, including Google, operate internationally, so information they process may be handled outside the UK. Where UK data protection rules require safeguards for an international transfer, an appropriate transfer mechanism must apply. Google explains its international processing and safeguards in its privacy information. You can contact us for information about the providers used to handle your enquiry.
Your rights and how to raise a concern
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, erase information, restrict its use or receive certain information in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent; this does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
These rights are subject to conditions and exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. To make a request or raise a concern, contact us using the details above.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator. Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113.
